last microcomment: what I wanted to say is that the combination is equivalent to these others, for me: De André writing a song for Pieraccioni or Conte one for Nuti. Then it’s clear that tastes are tastes and everyone chooses the friendships they want. For me, our Benigni is an excellent cabaret artist, a good comedian, a terrible director, and a non-existent author (or co-author), married to an unclassifiable actress.

taking everything on the kitch (maybe even on the trash, or on the kemp...at least for the review) is all fine...if, on the other hand, you start taking things seriously...meh...

I repeat: we’re waiting for the next MK DVD... were you there in Milan? Pure Dire Straits, certainly better than this modest (even in their greatness) live.

I respond to JimMorrison's appointment (unfortunately "only" our DeBaser one) to talk about "these" Doors, of which I have the LA Woman Live DVD... Do you want to start...? (a pseudo-review that couldn't be more pseudo... but tastes are tastes... and on the matter, we wouldn't be so far apart...)
Chet Baker & Enrico Pieranunzi The Heart Of The Ballad

Thank you all for the interest and compliments! The album is truly beautiful. As for the discontinuity in CB's discography, I can only agree: the constant hunger for money (not always for the best purposes...) led him to accept everything and anything. However, I challenge you to point out an album where CB played or sang poorly. Regarding the comparison to Davis, I don't think it's blasphemous (on this site, Cammariere has been compared to Jarrett..............!!!). I believe CB can be considered the best white musician just as Miles is the best black musician (or maybe not...? Or should we pretend that blacks and whites play the same way....?). Anyway, the artistic figure of Baker is absolutely immense to me. That of Miles is divine.

a beautiful record (at the highest Waitsian levels), but the three that follow (Alice, Blood Money, and Real Gone) are better for me.

great album and beautiful review: it's always nice to see your cult albums being reviewed, especially when they are truly cult albums and not fluff for many or fluff for a few... well done

Alright. You, being a fanatic for sure (I am too), what do you think about the Doors 21st century, and the legal disputes...? It could be an interesting conversation.

Well, the review might not be anything special... but let's not take a fundamentalist stance that suggests "only I can talk about Jim"... Come on...: courtesy always pays off. More than anything, I would dare to say that I've always preferred the wonderful Doors in the magic of the studio. Heresy...? Blasphemy...?

I agree with Punisher. Nice and fair review. The only doubt that remains: what if the overvaluation of the individual dates back a long, long time...? It's a doubt I have and nurture...
