Elbow A Cast Of Thousand

The critics called "Asleep in the back" one of the albums of that calendar year. I partly agreed – it’s a magnificent album, after all – but the year in question had been a year of grace, so: a great battle. I’ve loved Elbow since the very first listen, the classic love at first sight. Great voice, great ideas, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING arrangements, complex, never self-serving, never pompous. Talented musicians. Over the years, I’ve learned to recognize talent. I could go on and on about the excellence of a second work like "A cast of thousands," but there's already a (pseudo)review of it, which you can see in all its magnificence above. It’s an album that, in some ways, feels a bit STATIC, but is still of a heartbreaking beauty. "Switching off" was my song of the year. Those who don’t know it miss half the joys of life. Ciauz.

Alright, I've let the others slide, even though you were talking about albums I've loved, but I can't let this one go. But if you really like an album, don't you think it deserves at least a little effort on your part to use a universally recognized language?

The Cure The Cure

before3 for crying out loud, can’t you read what I’m saying?!? I never said that The Cure are commercial; I’m not even sure what that word means (maybe it doesn’t mean a damn thing: commercial means that it sells a lot?!?). I said that The Cure have written 13 songs without novelty. After 14 albums and years of career, either you write something that STUNS, or you take a break; it’s not prescribed by your doctor to play for eternity. This album is NICE, at times very pleasant, great nostalgia. Nothing more. And read carefully this time. k-tie'. BarryLindon you’re always the same :))
