So... Ikara Colt are the Sonic Youth stooges-style cover band, or almost.
You didn't understand a thing? Then maybe they are right for you...
Essentially, they make rock with distinct punk overtones (specifically that of the Stooges), filtered through the "comic" rendition given by the Sonic Youth: the voices are almost identical to those of Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, but they have enough personality to make a decent record...
Comparing it to cinema, this album could be a genre B-movie; like: if you're a fan, you'll enjoy it, even if you'll find all the typical ingredients (dark and amphetamine-like atmospheres, but with style), if you don't like the genre, stay away, if you've never had the pleasure, they might be a revelation for you. In short, a group with strategies akin to Black Rebel, but musically rougher, though.
What do you do with it? You could pose as beautiful and damned types, like them (they even take good care of the overall image - like the album cover recalls the website: quite good!), indulging with this underground band that will make you feel "cool," maybe with someone to make believe it, but it will be a game: nothing wrong with that (actually), but the real dirt you'll find in "Funhouse" of the aforementioned.
Ikara Colt, on the other hand, are an honest pub band, at least for now...
