I almost forgot the rating!!! Even though I don't agree, the review is still well done!

I don't agree that it is unanimously considered the least successful work of The Smiths; let's rather say it's a controversial album that has divided opinions because not everyone appreciated the pop twist (which I don't think is at all related to the transition to a major label)... the problem is that the term "pop," the catchiness, is always associated with the end of inspiration, with "selling out." This is a truly outstanding pop record, with memorable songs all at a high level, with incredibly inspired and vitriolic lyrics and an enviable musical dynamism... in my opinion (and I don't think I'm the only one), it's actually a really great album!

I’ve been listening to this album for over ten years now, and it still moves me every time, because beyond her technical abilities what she knew, and surely still knows how to do, is evoke emotions with her voice and with that blend of anger and melancholy that is her music!
