Tori Amos Under the Pink

It's my favorite album of hers... songs of icy and cutting beauty. I truly hope she can express herself at this level again, where to evoke emotion she needed nothing more than her piano and her voice.
Björk Drawing Restraint 9

Although I'm a huge fan of Björk, I didn't buy or even listen to this album, precisely because I don't see it as a true Björk record but rather as a soundtrack, which, from what I've read, doesn't really add much to her sounds and experiments... in short, I don't really see it as a commercial operation; almost never is a soundtrack... unless it's music for "films" like Titanic or The Bodyguard...
Tori Amos The Beekeeper
Voto:
At first, it almost seems like your review is positive... but towards the end, instead... anyway, I was also a bit disappointed by this album, but in hindsight, I have to say I prefer it to the penultimate Scarlet's Walk, which perhaps, being much more homogeneous than this last one, feels much heavier and verbose! The Beekeeper is indeed too long, but in its favor, I can say that the tracks do not blend into one another, so the listening experience is easier and still pleasant... of course, the comparison with the first, beautiful, works is rightly out of the question!

It was clear to Lovi, no problem... and thank you for the positive feedback!
Stevie Wonder Innervisions
Voto:
I am very attached to Stevie Wonder and to this album, which I also find practically perfect. "Visions" is a song of disarming depth and beauty... it's an album that really makes you feel better after listening to it. It's a shame that in today's black music it's so hard to find something that has the same poetry and, above all, originality.

I have to admit it... Enya is starting to wear even on me, who considers Watermark a perfect album! I don't agree with everything written in the review, but it really seems that Enya is resting a bit too much on her laurels... I didn't buy this album but listened to it (somewhat hastily) in the store, and I have to say that compared to the last two, I found it a bit more serious, and aside from the single, this time I feel that those annoying marches marked by the plucked strings that characterized all her last singles are missing... So I see it as a timid attempt to bounce back! I hope she can renew herself and find her edge and exoticism again...
Kate Bush Aerial

Tastes are tastes... I think this is a great album, one of the best of the year; sure, it requires more listens and doesn't contain radio-friendly tracks that grab you on the first listen, but to say that it's even better than The Red Shoes (without a doubt the least beautiful and successful album by Bush) shows that very few listens have actually been made to review it...
Madonna Confession on a Dance Floor

Come on Lele, you’re being too extreme. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not music; it’s just music at a level that's less "elevated" than what clearly appeals to you! According to your reasoning, anyone collaborating with Madonna is terrible because they stop making music; I’m sure Massive Attack, Prince, and many others would be thrilled about that... if the product, the collaboration, is good (like in this case... and I’m certainly not the one saying it, but a lot of critics are), it’s good regardless of whether Madonna’s name is on the album cover! Taste is taste; it doesn’t seem anyone is trying to force you to like it...

Revolver more than anything, I hope you're not right otherwise the world would be even worse than it seems! :) Anyway, all this satanism in Madonna, I really don't see it... at most the usual Catholic "dilemma" of sex or chastity...

Lele, but the Moloko are still part of an alternative scene; they are definitely more artistic, more sophisticated, and innovative... Madonna is a CONSUMER PRODUCT, but that doesn’t mean it has to suck by default (even though sometimes it has!). Just the choice of her collaborators speaks volumes; they are generally highly regarded producers in their field, but the general public still doesn’t know them... I wouldn’t be surprised if she collaborated with the Moloko in the future! By the way, have they broken up for good!?
