The White Stripes Get Behind Me, Satan
Voto:
Brave, refined, and true...their most beautiful album. They show that they make music for themselves, not to please the fans.

For the past month, I haven’t listened to anything else... an enveloping album like water, incredibly refined... honestly, I prefer it by far to Treasure, which, while being a really good album sonically, feels somewhat dated in my opinion; this one, on the other hand, is truly timeless!

Very funny... it feels like the modern version of Nursery Cryme...

I commissioned the purchase of Tecnique for now... if I end up liking it (which I hope), I certainly won’t stop there! This review has made me want to buy Songs from the Big Chair, of which I know all the tracks, but I only own the singles from the greatest hits... I really need to make up for that (finances permitting!).

I love this record!!! And if anyone (snob) turns up their nose, it's only because it was made by a duo considered just one of the many electropop groups of the time... and I'll say more, if it had been a flop (but perhaps that was impossible), everyone would have cried masterpiece! Great sounds, incredible melodies, one of the most refined and elegant albums the 80s produced! Great review!
David Bowie Pin-Ups

He surely has (like me) the Ryko version from the early 90s, the one that includes Growin' Up by Springsteen and that you could find at least six or seven years ago... I think it’s really hard to find now, unless at flea markets!
David Bowie Pin-Ups

It's certainly not Bowie’s best album, and perhaps not even the most suitable starting point to get to know this incredibly important artist (I held back because it's my favorite and I don't want to be biased!), yet it has its charm and is essential if you want to better understand the period, the glam atmosphere of the Bowie-Ziggy! And "Sorrow" sung by him is sensational! Great review!
Prince And The Revolution Parade

Thank you Blackcrow, but at this point I'm sorry you didn't review it! :) Yes, I know my review turned out a bit too short, but unfortunately excessive brevity is a flaw of mine. However, I wanted to focus on the fact that Parade isn't remembered as it should be, even though, in my opinion, its sound is very current and, above all, more personal (and influential in the black music to come) compared to that of the equally beautiful Sign o' the Times, which, as you say, is a summa, a snapshot, a reinterpretation of black music (not just that) in Prince's typical style!
Anyway, I really wouldn't know how to choose the best Prince album; the period from '82 to '88 was so rich that the choice would definitely be influenced by more subjective reasons!
Speaking of which... what do you think of the latest single? I’m a bit disappointed, but it seems the new album will have completely different sounds...

Then the review is well articulated, rich in cultured quotes; in short, it is certainly not written just for the pleasure of bashing such a famous album! What it doesn't take into account is that probably to appreciate a record like this, you need a certain predisposition to sounds like these; in short, we always return to the classic "de gustibus," which, however, cannot and should not be considered an objective parameter! That said, regarding this album (which has somewhat disappointed me too; I was expecting more), I still don't know the meaning of the lyrics, but I really love its sound, so disheveled and cacophonic... a bit less the melodies in the strict sense!
