Rhapsody Symphony Of Enchanted Lands II - The Dark Secret

I'm a fan of rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrap sodi (as Turilli says), but this album didn't blow me away! Never Forgotten Heroes is a self-plagiarism from, I think, Wisdom of the Kings, from the first Symphony... truly incredible! The actor is Christopher Lee... anyway, epic metal has little to do with Rhapsody, they play power symphonic Hollywood metal (oh my)... epic is more like the early Manowar or Manila Road that I've read... anyway, well done, nice review.

As for the first three, they are three masterpieces, no doubts about it... anyway, they're not really that famous, the Helloween.

That Manowar are pathetic in the metal scene is bullshit, then... most of their lyrics just need to be taken with a certain irony... and then come on, Eric Adams is phenomenal, and there's no denying that. But I preferred him in the first four albums, the ones that mixed classic heavy metal with classic epic metal... here he dirties his voice too many times... he sings better in "Into Glory Ride" and "Sign of the Hammer"! Enough with the bullshit about Manowar... whether they suck or they’re amazing ONLY for their image as warriors of true metal, which again should be taken with the right irony... stop comparing them to grunge or nu metal saying "they're better than..." because those are childish arguments. If you’re going to attack or defend them, give real reasons, for fuck's sake, but about the music, not about the covers or the messages they send, which evidently you can’t appreciate with the right irony, whether it's epic rants or bass players (look, Manowar has very little to do with power metal, just like with epic) that zion... wtf.

Yes, it's well written, but excuse me, what kind of review is this? You hardly say anything about the album! You've talked about the band, but only in broad terms about the album! For example, I wouldn't know at all what to expect from this CD... no offense.

I have this album... I liked listening to it again two years later... what a mess! An overwhelming sense of déjà vu, commercial songs like the opener "First Day of My Life," "In the Shadows," "In My Life," "Time to Burn," "Guilty"... they picked an appropriate name, at least judging by this album. For the poetry in the lyrics, Rammstein are more than enough, these guys add nothing... at least with this album. No offense, but you could have put a bit more effort into the review, added more things... :)

I've read the lyrics of "Angel of Death," and it doesn't seem Nazi to me; rather... Mengele is described as a sadistic butcher, and the text provides a rather brutal account of the genocide... it's a terrible piece, no doubt, but it's clear that it's a text of denunciation... I will get the album; I'm curious.

Well done, great review. The album, on the other hand, is the one I liked the least in the entire discography... but you manage to make it much more interesting than I consider it! Well done.
