To me, it was pretty crap, a nice joke. Sure, it’s funnier than Adult Theme, which is a joke that doesn’t make you laugh; this one at least brings a smile. Maybe, just maybe, if you take it as an album from someone (Patton) who doesn’t know how to play, you might say “well, it’s not that bad,” but when you think about the fact that there are people like Zorn and Ribot involved, you think “no way... this is really crap.” Then you think “but of course it’s Patton, not Zorn,” then you rethink “yeah, but damn, there’s Zorn,” until you reach the point of “oh, they’re just joking!”... and if you didn’t buy it, you laugh; when you have bought it, you don’t laugh, but you give it a 2 (being generous). I recommend it to those who have money to throw away.

Perhaps I need to explain it to you better: The fact that he calls it extreme music doesn't mean it's extreme music in the exact and precise sense of the term (since there is NO EXACT and PRECISE sense of the term), it simply means that he associates it with what we humans call "extreme musical movement," which includes the most aggressive, violent, and experimental metal bands. Do you understand?

The Avril example doesn’t fit at all. Punk was already a well-defined name, so you associate something with a name that is already established. The term extreme music didn’t exist and was coined to bring together the most extreme branches of metal like Death, Thrash, Gore, Grind, and all that crap. And you keep nitpicking over some damn word-name, do you realize that?
