So you feel like you’re reading John Wayne, or even On the Waterfront and similar.

Reread a thousand years later in the original: wonder. Precisely because it turns your view of On the Waterfront upside down. Sentences without conjunctions, a broken English that couldn’t be more broken, and you truly feel in a Los Angeles still under construction where a piece of land costs as much as 4 hamburgers.

He might be my favorite roughneck; usually, I prefer more "complex" people, but the way he writes almost without conjunctions and extremely direct to the point, it works.

Nice, huh? Magma is still the best drummer in the genre, but the final product is not close to the ear-shattering blasts of the previous ones.
