Pat Metheny Letter From Home
Voto:
Not bad, but in my opinion definitely not the best album, nice ideas, good concepts but I reiterate it's not the best from our dear Pat. The sung parts, on the other hand, are in my opinion the weakest moments of the entire album because the voice doesn't evoke anything in me.

This was my first vinyl bought with my own money, I'm attached to it like it's a relic! From this record, my miserable collection of vinyls grew.

I completely agree with your judgment, a pleonastic record and, for long stretches, tedious.

I bought this album with a lot of hesitation, because in my opinion, certain artists, including her, have already said everything or almost everything they had to say. Nevertheless, I bought the CD anyway and I deeply regret it because I find it highly redundant and boring at several points. In my view, she should have done nothing if what she produced merely echoes her old stylistic trademarks, and indeed the album sounds like pure déjà vu! The second album, which could be more enjoyable as it is set in a more intimate dimension, sounds as fake as sound fairy tales... too bad I haven't been a child for too many years now! Great review, heartfelt and engaging, I don't agree with almost anything you wrote but I like it, welcome!

I don't really like the keyboardist at all; I definitely prefer the cellist... but the keyboardist is a bit of a jerk and keeps her on a tight leash!
Jan Garbarek In Praise Of Dreams

I've listened to this record many times; at first, it drove me crazy, but in the long run, it bored me quite a bit... maybe I should take a trip to the deep north to fully appreciate it.

I perfectly agree with your judgment; here you can sense a bored Garbarek, and in the long run, the album turns out to be truly dull.
Paolo Conte Parole d'amore scritte a macchina
Voto:
this, while acknowledging the greatness of all the others, "aguaplano" above all, remains for me the best album by Conte; maybe it's because I'm attached to it, it reminds me of a nice period, or simply because it was the first one I bought, but for me, it is the best. That one, as you say, is the "strangest" and perhaps even the most sociological because it speaks, right from the title, not of poetry but of true "prosaic life." After all, let's not forget, even if he doesn't practice, Paolo Conte is still a lawyer, and the "words of love typed on a machine" are precisely those prosaic statements of divorce lawyers.

Well done my little friends from Tuscany, Perugia, and Marche who also went to this concert, music I wouldn't have listened to even if I were dead, friends I would have liked to see very much! Bye guys, see you next time.

Thank you guys, yes this was a particularly inspired review of mine and every now and then this record (absolutely on original double vinyl) spins under the stylus.
