Beautiful review, but unfortunately appreciated only halfway since I'm not familiar with the album.
The Doors The Doors

The FIRST "dark" album is The Velvet Underground and Nico (1966). Then in 1967, when this Doors came out (Jim Morrison loved the Velvets, by the way), the VU released White Light, White Heat. Sorry, but I've always considered this album to have a psychedelic-blues-rock nature... I don't hear anything dark in tracks like Break On Through, Alabama Song, Twentieth Century Fox, or Light My Fire! At most, there's The End, but one track (even if it's long) is too little to define this album as dark. If instead you tell me that Jim Morrison himself (as a self-destructive cursed visionary poetic figure, as well as a singer with a deep voice although rarely gloomy) inspired the Dark movement of the '80s, then I agree...

Molko's flaw is that he can be a bit pretentious (others might say arrogant). No wonder he's highly admired in France, where they are experts in pretense. Reading interviews in French magazines, I discovered that Molko has an AMAZING musical culture, and, for example, during an interview on a French show like "guess which record it is," he guessed 10 out of 10 records on the first try, and I assure you they weren't easy titles at all...

Well done LaFine, great album, great bassist, truly priceless! I got the box set with all the videos, such a delight. I remember when this album came out, it was a revolution, all the bassists I know were left stunned.... :)

Glenn Hughes Building The Machine

So... the proposal is good (even though here very few people care about blues-rock), but I think you might be overemphasizing it a bit. Glenn Hughes is a good singer, but he's not "divine." Live, he's an old-school performer still going strong; I saw him two years ago. He was a big drug user in the past, so hats off to his resilience. It's worth mentioning that Hughes was one of the bassists for Deep Purple during their second era (post-Gillian and Glover, though that's not a guarantee, considering that half of the world has played in Deep Purple). He played with them on Stormbringer! He has also collaborated with a ton of people, especially in the British blues-rock scene. Among the many (mediocre) solo albums he's made, "Play Me Out" stands out as an interesting album that's very funky, featuring guests like Dave Holland... Hello and welcome!
Paolo Conte The Best Of

Dear Devon, you were asking for info on Marianne Faithfull... check out "Broken English," perhaps her most interesting album. Anyway... if your intention is to write more reviews on Paolo Conte, you need to step it up; you can't just give us those little reviews like that. Try reading the ones about DeAndré (they've just been published), they are reviews that do justice to the artist they refer to. Come on, gather your courage! :)

I quite liked A me Without You I'm Nothing, but I only listened to this one briefly. The similarity of the tracks is an interesting matter. Nice review, dear Jordan, even though it's a bit short. :)
