The Mars Volta De-Loused In The Comatorium

Here’s one of those albums that has been talked about so much and that I haven't managed to listen to (it's sitting there under a pile of unplayed CDs)... I think I'll get to it, but not today... Good review ZiOn, but now, in the next reviews, add a little piece of your own, you know what I mean...

It seems to me that there are quite a few prejudices about journalists and music magazines... but maybe it's better if I drop the subject, it's not the right time... :-/

It's a bit lengthy (... what a pulpit!), but well done. An important album, one of the last "seminal" ones. Pure acid, heart-stopping BPM... great! When it comes to the musical translation of technourban alienation, the Germans are always the best.

A stunning creature! I don't know her very well, but I believe this album is the perfect way to start getting to know her. Thank you, Ege, a great suggestion.
Ska-P Incontrolable (En Directo)
Voto:
No no no, you can't compare Madness, the Skatalites, and the Specials to Ska-P. With all due respect to the latter, the "original" ska from the legendary British bands was closely tied to the sound systems of Jamaican rude boys who emigrated to England and the skinhead movement (note: skinhead and not naziskin, as these are two quite different things). The ska played by Ska-P and European bands today (this is an entirely European phenomenon) is something else entirely (in terms of attitude). First of all, it no longer relates to skinheads (who are now mistakenly considered all Nazi, but I'd better not get into that discussion or I’ll write a sociological treatise), and it has also taken a zapatista-patchanka-noglobal-ganjal egalize-dituttounpo' turn... When you say ska, I think of when at 17 I would dress in black and white checkered shirts, ballet flats, and three-quarter pants; it was style and elegance, even with limited means. Today, ska means social centers, dreadlocks, and mega joints... It's a whole different thing.

ps: as if it wasn't clear that this review was written to provoke you, Iko. Anyway, your reaction shows that you liked it. Right?
