I've been following them since their first album. It’s not that they blow me away, but I like them enough. To be honest, I prefer 'Nightfreak And The Sons Of Becker'... it’s more freaked out. Great review, Socrates. And the best album of 2004? :)

It is precisely in these days that the desire to rediscover slower and more 'suspended' rhythms and dynamics becomes strong. Like that of savoring an ancient, nostalgic taste...

"...knocks on my door, in my opinion, always in the wrong way and at the wrong time, and hardly lasts longer than a flame." How true this is, Cuin. Terribly true. Just as true as "The illusion of rediscovered love can only be created in a dimension suspended between dream and reality"...... otherwise, it risks sinking through a rice paper floor, only to find itself among the stones... those who have experienced it know what I'm talking about. Great review, a film to watch, an album to listen to.

One of the classic albums to give at Christmas, music that everyone loves - even the "laymen" - featuring a great "universal" sound. Best wishes, Grass, happy holidays. :)

Heron :D rather than worshipping me, worship Delia Derbyshire... back in the day, this woman had everyone at her feet, her magical little hands on the console worked miracles! She is the Mother of electronic music! ---- I was interested in writing this review to draw attention to sound engineering. When it comes to music, people always think only about musical composition and lyrics. But talent, even if immense, quickly fades without the right technique... Sound engineering is a fascinating territory. When you listen to music giving the right attention to this aspect as well, then you can truly say you are a real 'connoisseur.' When you love motorsport, you also like talking about engines, not just about bodywork and race performance, right? It should be the same for music, in my humble opinion.... thanks to everyone for the interest! :))

On the level of sound and production. It doesn't mean that 'musically' they are like the Smashing, but the sound, the vibe, in certain parts is similar, technically speaking, just like it is to that of Jane's Addiction. The Jesus Lizard had a different concept of sound; they went for a direct take.
