This album, despite the truly poor vintage, is a precious wine, a true gem, a small masterpiece... for me, the best Beck is right here, in this private musical poetry of his. Sea Change has stayed with me more than Up by Peter Gabriel, and that says a lot, considering that I usually have more affection for Gabriel than for Beck...

What a strange operation. Well, among all those mentioned, I quote the Anal Cunt, what a great band! A review on the Anal Cunt is a must! And of course, I quote Papa Zorn and the Naked City. I don't know the Brodsky Quartet, and I haven't approached Costello more than to a certain extent, but that little I have heard I think is quite remarkable. So I wouldn't know what to write... except that the review is excellently written, with skill and care. :) From the samples, I suspect that this work requires a lot of attention, something that has been in short supply around my parts lately...
