THE REVIEW

Quick introduction: the writer is someone who has listened to albums like Worst Case Scenario and Ideal Crash to the point of exhaustion, someone who last year went to the independent days in Bologna to see them and got screwed (they were canceled at the last minute); in short, a die-hard fan of Barman and co.
My big problem is that, nonetheless, I always maintain a critical and rational judgment that allows me not to be overly influenced by the trust I have towards a group I have admired and appreciated for many years.

In two words: they failed this time.
Pocket Revolution is basically a poor copy of Ideal Crash with qualitatively inferior songs.
Just listen to the first track "Bad Timing" which is practically identical, structurally, to "Put the freaks up".
I'm not someone who expects a band to always surprise me album after album with new sounds or peculiar arrangements, but neither am I someone who expects to hear, years later, exactly the same thing.
With this, I don't mean to say that the album is bad: for heaven's sake, some tracks are very nice, but nonetheless not up to the reputation of these guys who, evidently, had spoiled me too much.

Summary by Bot

A longtime dEUS fan provides a critical and rational review of Pocket Revolution, calling it a weaker and repetitive imitation of Ideal Crash. Despite some nice tracks, the album fails to meet the band's high reputation.
