Let's try to translate the first one according to Giusti's reasoning: pedal guitar played with a slide technique. Try telling an Italian bluesman (for example, someone like Joe Colombo): "make your fantastic pedal guitar sing with slide technique." :-DD I would never say something like that to Colombo!! And I would never say: "make your guitar sing." To Colombo? As if he were just any guitarist with any guitar? It would be a sign of ignorance. The only thing would be to tell him: "make your pedal steel sing" (with or without guitar). And he would make it sing.
