Three albums in sixteen years, five years after the previous "Borderline", "ilikePosi!" finally comes out, an album in which Posi moves away from purely rap and hip hop sounds, preferring electronic, sometimes techno, rock, and punk.
This doesn't mean that the lyrics are of low quality; on the contrary, they are as always extremely original and full of references to characters more or less known: singers like Tormento in "Esaurimento", J-Ax in "Fottiti" and "Essere un idolo", Bono Vox, Marya, and Jesto again in "Essere un idolo" but also entertainers and vips like Scamarcio and Paris Hilton.
"i like Posi!" is a celebration of minimal beats (but never repetitive and trivial) and acidic sounds.
Posi playfully uses words, enjoying mocking the church, politics, clichés, gossip, social parties, and those whose success is based on nothing.
She is never vulgar but rather direct in what she says, not avoiding terms we use continuously, her messages are breathless and distorted, her words sharp, biting, critical, provocative and full of mischievous double entendres.
Some may find her scandalous for certain lyrics like "Voglio farmi la dj", an autobiographical track where Posi recounts how during her DJ sets she becomes the object of languid looks. No wonder she has been dubbed the Italian Peaches. Definitely anti-diva and not a "good girl".
The singles that preceded the release of "ilikePosi!" were indeed "Voglio farmi la dj", "I like Paris" (where she makes fun of the platinum blonde American heiress Paris Hilton), "Clichè" and "Lamette" (a tribute to Miss Rettore), each accompanied by colorful, hypnotic, and entertaining videos.
There are also more 'quiet', melancholic, and romantic tracks like "Noir" and "Aristocrazia del cuore".
Collaborations are not missing: Yumiko in "Abbandonami" and "Neutrale" which takes up the refrain of the song of the same name from their album "Lividi"; Gianfranco Forattini in "Cristallo"; Entics in "Aristocrazia del cuore" and Dj Yaner in "Esaurimento".
"i like Posi!" is an irresistible mix of sounds and lyrics. The beats make you want to crank up the volume to the max (the neighbors are already pissed off -.-'), to jump around and create chaos. The lyrics are very singable but at the same time engaged and serious.
It's an album that goes against the trend, it's explicit, provocative, puts aside hypocrisy. The irony is disarming, sharp, and bold. And that's the beauty of it!
We had to wait quite a bit before we could listen to it but it was really worth it, it went beyond my expectations (and I'm not saying that to suck up...). "ilikePosi!" is so overwhelming that you can't be disappointed by it; you might not appreciate the genre and this change of hers, but that's better than continuing to do rap, opening one's mouth only to fill it with air, like so many are doing, all wearing baggy clothes thinking they're gangsters and 'tough' just because they talk about drug dealing, guns, and gratuitous violence.
Posi has experimented with a perhaps new genre in Italy (straddling hip hop and electronic) and what is certain is that it works like a charm.
Not to forget about the graphics of "i like Posi!", curated by Posi herself. Simply spectacular, colorful, lively, and simple. And kudos to Giulia Bruno for the photos.

A perfect mix of Electronics, Dance, and Hip Hop with direct lyrics and transgressive rhymes.
An album to own, enjoyable to listen to, dance to, but also watch!
