Dear Anderson, in fact, your serving wine at concerts already made me doubt… Today, perhaps you would get into trouble for offering alcohol at concerts…

"'Mi vendo' is a cheerful song, if I'm not mistaken, from 1976 and it's one of the few by Renato Zero that doesn't give me a terrible sense of claustrophobia, a peak reached with songs on the verge of autism like 'Amico' and 'Carrozzone'. It’s purely a matter of taste, of course; I find 'Periferia' very beautiful, and 'Galeotto fu il canotto' is definitely entertaining. Historically, 'Il triangolo' is certainly perfect, and equally splendid in its simplicity is 'Sbattiamoci'. An unforgettable episode in 1982 in a bar, there was a night show (Fantastico?) where Zero sang 'Mamma Rai' in a white suit and naval officer's hat; a lady remarked, 'Look, he would be a handsome guy if he didn't always dress like a gay man.'"

All in all, I find Venditti to have always been a clever trickster, ever since the days of Lilly. An artist as good as few at riding the tiger of current affairs from Cronaca Vera, if nothing else, up to 'Cuore' he delivered beautiful songs, not always, but at least decent ones. The best period in my opinion was during the experimental phase of the late 70s-early 80s, the time of reflux when perhaps he got tired of telling stories about really unlucky people... One of his best songs, unexpectedly, was written for a beautiful Milva: Eva (Eva Eva\ Eva dagli occhi di gatto). I loved 'L'Ottimista' and 'Qui', from the 1984 LP Cuore. After that, I didn’t buy anything from him until the terrifying Mondo di Ladri, a truly disgusting album. A Leftist singer? Come on, let’s not talk nonsense; at best, he’s rather a perfect bard of the Great White Whale... The real Leftist singers are neither Venditti, nor De Gregori, nor many others with terrifying bank accounts... PS: I am not leftist, and I don’t care about politics; I’ve never bought a record for the artist's label. Baglioni reactionary, Battisti a big fascist... but wake up, fools, because those are all people who soaked us in the pot of Belonging...

I only know 'Black Cars,' which was one of the most beautiful songs of my 17 years (1985).

Good review, I really don’t remember the album since I discovered it only in 1992. I do remember, however, that there was indeed a very melancholic song that I liked more than the others. Of course, no one talks about the cover, which I’ve known since I was a child having seen it at my uncle's in the early 70s when I was only 4 or 5 years old.

I would like to know what’s so African American about a square-headed guy like Fornaciari… He boasts a lot of nonsense; I rarely let myself go, but even though I'm originally from those very parts, I’m not really fond of Sugar. It’s a shame because he has deteriorated over time. Of course, since the days of 'Una notte che vola via,' when I was a kid and I liked him, there's been quite a bit of road since then. It’s hard to believe I even bought two of his records… (Rispetto, on vinyl in '86 and Oro incenso e birra, on CD in '90, both ended up in the trash, luckily). I hope the fans of our national Zucchero don’t take it the wrong way.

BeatBoy, thank you for the clarification, you can't remember everything perfectly! I used a term that is indeed a bit overused; I really like 'Fiori e Colori' a lot. Maybe instead of saying 'dated' I should have said 'simple' (relatively), even though I know it has nothing to do with it...
