They were really good, but today, sic stantibus rebus, it could be seen as a fault. A commendation to you as well.

"Usual" for you, of course, as it seems you tend towards a rather unvaried "diet." ;-) The adjective wasn’t meant to be a judgment on the artist, whom I also appreciate, even if a bit mannered, always at a high level, mind you, it peeks through in some of his recent works. Becker and Brecker, however, have another point of contact, aside from the Pawn Shop of deceptions, and that is none other than Donald Fagen. The trumpet of young Michael has made its commendable contribution to several tracks of "Nightfly." So everything fits together.

However, I don’t agree with the choice of genre. Blues and R&B prevail, but there’s no shortage of pop and rock either; a generous sprinkle of jazz certainly doesn’t justify the "Contemporary Jazz."

As is known, I'm not objective about the Steely, but in my opinion, it's just slightly inferior, although different, to the brother's debut. I recently listened to it again at the urging of some friends, Pacino first among them, commenting on my review of "Katy Lied." It’s worth much more than a 3 and just shy of a 5. "Surf and - or Die" is an essay on how high pop can soar. Count yourself lucky not to have gotten the "usual" Brecker.

Purchased for five and a half dollars (including shipping) during one of my eBay adventures. Without Pacino, Debaser is poorer, not just for his golden advice. By the way, great Cantuaria and Gal Costa. I found both "Horse & Fish" and the latest, "Silva," at a bargain price.

I'm pleased to think that in some way even our passionate reviews as fans of debaserioti have contributed to the unexpected "resurrection" of the undisputed admiral (Nelson) of the '80s. Who has heard the latest in full?

I join Massimof and especially the gray companion with whom, as is known, I almost telepathically share opinions. (4.5)

"There are certain things worth living for: the old Groucho Marx, Joe Di Maggio, THE SECOND MOVEMENT OF THE JUPITER SYMPHONY, Louis Armstrong, the recording of Potato Rag Blues, Swedish films of course, Flaubert's Sentimental Education, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, the incredible apples and pears painted by Cezanne, the crabs from Sun Woo, Tracy's face..." and who am I to disagree with Ike, Woody Allen's alter ego?

When I bought it, I was criticized, but time is a gentleman, and the Manichaeans of that time, including some prominent critics from prestigious music magazines, have had to admit their misjudgment. It’s a top-notch pop album, for me the duo's most successful work.

After a period that would be euphemistically described as troubled, I return to Debaser and find many albums I’m fond of rightly reviewed. I really don’t know where to start... I’ll begin here to give strength to the neglected Soul and to reward the nickname of the new friend.
