This review, in any case, made me think. It made me think that it is both wrong to exalt and acclaim albums as masterpieces, perhaps like "The Wall," which are excessively overrated even if more than good, but at the same time, it is equally wrong to adopt a certain intellectual-chic attitude (present on the site as well) in snobbishly tearing apart objectively "historic" albums. In short, it’s not "The Piper...", but it remains a great album; honestly, I just don't understand giving a 1 to an album like this...

I disagree. Great album, perhaps a bit too mannered, but nonetheless historic. Not a masterpiece but an excellent record, even though the masterpieces of Pink Floyd remain "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn," "Ummagumma," and "Dark Side Of The Moon," untouchable.
