@[asterisco]: I'm replying briefly. You say it has changed for the better, but unfortunately, I disagree. Years ago, there were many more people reviewing new music releases, and it was an "alternative" site, dedicated to all those who didn't appreciate the pretentious tones of certain specialized press. Now it’s no longer the case, and I’m a bit sad about that. Secondly: perhaps we should reconsider the opposition between subjective and objective. It’s necessary to ask what a review is and, going further, what it means to write. Do we write for ourselves? To inflate our ego with streams of consciousness? To project our own unfulfilled writing ambitions onto an album or a film? For me, the answer is no. Writing a review, specifically, means writing for others, for those unfamiliar with a work, trying to convey ideas and information as clearly and understandably as possible, and if desired, to include a comment, an impression, a personal note, perhaps with a poetic or literary nuance. This is not just listing two pieces of information from Wikipedia, but discussing even difficult things in a simple and genuine way. However, I realize that this is ultimately a subjective view as well. Regarding the review, I apologize if I expressed my opinion in an inappropriate "place." I ask Cosmic to take it as a small vent, probably a bit nostalgic. That’s all.

I usually excel in evaluations because I respect the effort that goes into producing music. However, here, despite my good intentions, I can't save anything. Most tracks come off as simple jam sessions or fillers, more like sketches or rehearsals that haven't been fully developed. Furthermore, I don't find any poetic quality in the fragment or in the excess: that, if anything, I sense in Alva Noto, Ryoji Ikeda, in certain glitch music, and generally in those who create art from sounds or elements categorized as "errors." In this album, I hear only interference, noise, useless one-minute skits, a hodgepodge of synthesizers and vocoders with no rhyme or reason. I give it 2 stars just because I'm a nice person, but we are truly at embarrassing levels.

One of their most enjoyable albums. The production by Butch Vig definitely has an impact.

The title track is beautiful, but I struggle to connect with the rest of the album (and generally with a certain type of jazz).
