I listened to some tracks, very enjoyable. However, "an incessant presence of drums in the background, perhaps attempts to energize the whole thing": I don't understand this sentence, it seems to me that the drums always have a great beat, beautifully present and driving, it feels just right. It doesn't seem like a "background to energize."

Masterpiece! Tense and dramatic with perfectly on-point touches of irony (memorable when he tips the pizzaiolo, or the 2 phone calls with the "wives"). I prefer it to Serpico.
