Fucking decas, I was losing this gem...

Seeing its rating on IMDB, I think it's the most overrated movie ever. I just can't get past Darabont and King. This is a good film, but it drips with rhetoric from every frame (even the clichéd stuff: freedom, hope, and blah blah blah), The Green Mile has the most pathetic 10-minute ending in cinema history, and The Host has a great ending built on a piece of trash.

Beautiful Mad! I had thought about reviewing it myself months ago, but the review would have been a miserable sentence, namely: "Heavy Metal Fruit version 2.0." Don’t get me wrong, it's a good album, but I also love the MPs; it’s just that this time I found them a bit less "experimental," and the guitar interplay between Snah and the Swedish prog guy (I can’t remember the name) becomes somewhat self-indulgent over time. All the songs are more than good, but the (I think) 17 minutes of Ratcatcher are pure masturbation (it could very well have been 10 minutes shorter for me). There’s a difference between stepping outside the box with an orchestra behind you (The Death Defying Unicorn docet) and having a contest over who has the longer guitar solos. I’ll tell you that even live they really tested my patience: 3 hours of concert with a first half that was incredibly heavy, every song ended in a jam session between the guitars, it was really a slog. After an hour and a half of cosmic heaviness, though, they blast Blissard straight at you, with supersonic power, well, then you forgive them.

These don't drive me crazy...

Beautiful film, at times very disturbing. The ending shot to perfection, with a perfect background score. And then there's Dagger by Slowdive, no joke.

A truly successful film. It brings big smiles in the first part, then grips you until the end. Gosling is excellent with those ridiculous mustaches, sociopathic and awkward just the right amount. Highly recommended.
