I believe I saw it when I was around 9-10 years old, so I have a very vague memory of it. A few years ago, I caught the remake, one of the most ridiculous movies I’ve ever seen.
David Cronenberg Il Pasto Nudo
Voto:
One of the sickest and most fascinating films I’ve ever seen in my life. My favorite by Cronenberg, along with Videodrome (an absolute top) and A History of Violence.
Michael Haneke Benny's Video
Voto:
I would like to see both this and the seventh continent, but I can't seem to find them. I've only seen Funny Games and Time of the Wolves by Haneke, and I really liked both of them.
Mario Bava Cani arrabbiati

The first 20 minutes have a rhythm that is nothing short of perfect. The film gets really bogged down in the middle section, with some pretty shitty dialogues, a few forced moments, and a pointless soundtrack that never highlights the tension. The ending is pure masterpiece, so I give it a 4.
Walter Hill Southern Comfort
Voto:
Well... too stereotypical. The idiocy of the soldiers is unbelievable. It aged poorly, but not as much as the, for me, unmanageable The Warriors.

How can you give less than 4 to this movie? You deserve the cinepanettoni, for goodness' sake. A masterpiece of comedy.
Tweak Bird Under Cover Crops

It seems very interesting...I'll look for them.
Gregg Araki Doom Generation
Voto:
A deliberately exaggerated film (starting with Heresy by NIN, "your god is dead and none cares") that describes a generation adrift without a future. Powerful in its implausibility. 3.5 out of 5. Araki with Mysterious Skin will nearly reach masterpiece status, always dealing with lost youth. The soundtracks of his films are fantastic.
Emir Kusturica Underground

All true, the scenes you mentioned are fabulous. A film that is at times brilliant, but it didn't fully convince me. Usually, I don't mind long films, but I found this one truly pachydermous and very redundant... the soundtrack was too intrusive and light-years away from my tastes, which made it hard for me to appreciate. It deserves to be seen at least once in a lifetime; the ending is fantastic.
