Quentin Tarantino Bastardi Senza Gloria

Rock brother, we think differently… that's fine… anyway, I’ll watch it in the original language… maybe I’ll appreciate the characters more, who, apart from Landa, disappointed me…

I didn't compare them... simply an ironic war film is Full Metal Jacket (because it's a war film and it's ironic), but in my opinion, this isn't a war film; it's set in that period and features those characters... but the theme is the vengeance of the Jews... so, is Forrest Gump a war film because there's a scene in Vietnam? The characters, for me, are poorly developed (in all of Tarantino's films, every character is almost a co-protagonist; here, they're just figures... come on... the 8 bastards are almost extras)... that's how I see it, and it doesn't seem like nonsense to me... you think differently, and that's not nonsense either... I don't understand this aggressive tone, considering I gave it a 3... I didn't say it's crap... as for Brad Pitt, he's underplayed compared to the big characters that Quentin usually churns out...

I am a fan of Tarantino, but I have to admit that this movie really disappointed me... the beginning is a masterpiece, that's undeniable... one of the most tense scenes I've ever seen... Chapter 2 is also very good, but in my opinion, the film gets lost in a too excessive citationism (the scene in the globe room where they talk about German cinema is pointless; Tarantino wants to showcase his knowledge in that field and does so in a sterile way)... the 8 bastards are little more than cardboard cutouts... Hugo (who could have been a new cult character, like Vincent Vega) disappears too soon... Brad Pitt is subdued and for half the film just sits there with a Don Corleone face without saying anything sensible... every time Zoller enters the scene, it’s a letdown... it's excellent from a directing standpoint (but Quentin is great at that), and Christoph Waltz is Oscar-worthy... but the dialogues and the characters (almost all of them poorly developed) are insufficient...

Great review... I'm quite fond of the single... I've never really dug deep into the Artics, but I must say that some tracks from their previous albums are not bad at all...

in my opinion clearly inferior to lock&stock and the snatch...for dialogues, ideas and character development...3 because there’s something entertaining...nice the scene of the foot chase with the Russian hitmen...
