Maccio Capatonda Italiano Medio (film)
Voto:
It would be too easy to be snobbish and throw zero-shit. I must admit that the fake trailers by Maccio Capatonda and his buddies have always amused me quite a bit, and I consider them light years ahead of the unbearable sketches of Soliti Idioti. I haven't seen the movie, but I believe that the effectiveness of the trailers was due to their length and editing, just like a trailer. We need to see if this type of comedy, strong because it's short and immediate, can work for an entire film. I mean, the 2 minutes of the "average Italian" trailer I found to be really strong, but they could get lost in a full-length film. Already, the few things I’ve seen of "Mario" didn't appeal to me at all. We'll see, there's curiosity.

I've been meaning to send this for a while. After watching 10 minutes of Enter the Void, I fear this director like no one else in the world. Maybe I'll watch it tonight. Does anyone have a link with Italian subtitles to send me? It really reminds me of Taxi Driver, only rawer and angrier. Hammering direction.

Already mentioned over there, for me it’s their masterpiece. Living accordingly, but also against reason, I have a fixation, puzzle, derek, flood. They did well to split it into 2 albums. Probably in the long run, I would have found the same meandering quality as Wow.
David O. Russell American Hustle

Instead, I think Russell isn't that bad. I mean, it's not wrong to compare him to Scorsese; he somewhat resembles him. I liked how he psychologically outlines Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook, always shot up close, with the camera swirling around him, almost wanting to get inside his head. In Three Kings, there are a couple of very suggestive slow-motion scenes. I can't think of any particular nuances in this one, and it didn't blow me away. The problem with his films, in my opinion, lies more in the screenplay. Even Silver Linings Playbook starts off great, only to decline into a very predictable comedy. He's a good director but not a great storyteller. Anyway, you're right, it's a decent film and nothing more.

Zanna, I'm replying here to what you wrote to me on fb...no, actually, never mind.

A nice little movie and nothing more, stuff seen and re-seen in a thousand yankee war films. Essentially, it's watchable, but it’s completely pointless.

Verdena: 3. Just a big rock: 4. The suicide of the samurai: 4.5. Requiem: 4. Wow: 3.5. Endkadenz vol.1: 5. Their discography was missing the "masterpiece," I'm glad they made it. An absolutely amazing artistic journey, maximum respect truly.

At a first listen, I can only say one thing:... um, wait, how do you make the smiley face with heart-shaped eyes? Well, that describes well what I think. I'll revisit it for the rating after I've absorbed it. I have a total obsession.

I'll get it on Tuesday. The single didn't blow me away, actually. However, I liked Puzzle and Diluvio. I'm expecting a great album... we'll see.
