I interpreted the phrase "there existed a truly despondent, violent, confused, nonconformist, antisocial, asexual, and apathetic individual as one" to mean: before success, Cobain was really like this (in this demo), then he became a "slut" (which is to say he seemed to become a fake depressed, antisocial person, etc...). That’s why I say that someone who shoots themselves at 27 is not faking anything, rather they have hell inside them... and nevermind only amplified his discomfort (along with his bank account)... I love all Nirvana's albums, so I don't share the review... songs like lithium, smells, and in bloom would have been enough to make Nirvana what they are, even without Vig's plastic production...
