mrbisturi: the answer is difficult... Scorsese, as always, makes you connect emotionally with the improbable (and here credit is also due to the excellent DiCaprio) characters... but continuing to live in that condition is not living... I don’t know... you’re left feeling disoriented about everything... there’s no escape no matter how things turn out...

@MR.MUSTACHE and MRBISTURI: Yes, the ending is very hard to accept... the film definitely deserves a second viewing to be understood better... the ending is anyhow quite "open"... because Scorsese doesn't show us Teddy's choice (to continue living as a bad man or die as a good man?).
