I find it hard to give a rating. I agree with ilfreddo, in this film there are really good things along with some pretty terrible ones. It really picks up in the part with the mother, after the trashy party at the girl’s place. Then it stumbles again at the end. From 2.5 to 3.

I haven’t seen it yet, but you’re right, Australian cinema has been producing some gems lately. Michod above all. For me, The Rover is a masterpiece.

Come on, you’ve been too harsh. A classic film in its triumph of good feelings, but entertaining and without a dip in pace. It’s a 100% Hollywood show-off, but fun. 3.5. Every now and then, these little movies are welcome too.

Well, I expect a blockbuster without too many pretensions and I'll watch it with that mindset. Prometheus was melted crap, but I enjoyed The Counselor quite a bit. Maybe his most underrated film.

I'll be the only jerk, but I didn't particularly like it. Having seen it in both English and Italian, I found it boring and sugary the first time, and almost unbearable the second. For me, it remains a sentimental little film with an excellent soundtrack. I mean, in the end, just add a real woman and it’s the usual kind of hipster love story. Ah, I found both Scarlet's omnipresent voice and that of Ramazzotti a real kick in the balls. Phoenix also left me a bit cold. Jonze has definitely done better.
