Terence Young Agente 007 - Thunderball (Operazione tuono)

Rating on the fluffiness scale: 4. The quote mentioned by the kids above is fantastic, but this one earns a spot in the favorites: "Notably, among other things, how the director, at the actor's first appearance, chooses to pay homage to his Italian origins by having him park in a no-parking zone."
Denis Villeneuve Sicario

For me, a damn great film, beautifully shot and with characters crafted by God: there are no good or bad, there is no right or wrong, just many facets and in the end, man always acts in his own interests. Villeneuve creates a couple of scenes with incredible tension, really, I can’t remember a more heart-pounding scene than the car blockade at the border. The final part is spectacular and Benicio Del Toro in one of his best roles. Prisoners is good, but Enemy and this one are truly masterpieces. I miss the woman singing.
Quentin Tarantino The Hateful Eight

I agree on many things. It is definitely his most stylistic film, a compendium of what he's done before, with Reservoir Dogs at the forefront. However, I think at the writing level it is an impeccable film, with a mysterious plot that keeps you glued until the end. Good old Quentin doesn't do anything new, he doesn't give a damn about a deep message (do you really go to see Tarantino to find something beyond simple entertainment? Are you serious?), he washes his hands of the western and ta-daaa pulls out a badass murder mystery set in the West. I only read afterward that he was inspired by The Thing, but Carpenter's film came to my mind right away, not just because of the storm and the characters who don't trust anyone, but also because it works like a mystery: "who is the thing? - who is the traitor?" Here you find the best of his films: the tension of Inglourious Basterds (I think of the scene where Landa uncovers the Jews under the floor and it reminds me of when the bad guys take control of the store, causing a massacre), Bulletproof-style dialogues that are rich in details but able to perfectly bring the characters to life, Samuel Jackson's anecdote about Bruce Dern's son's death is so pulpfiction-esque it’s frightening, and well, the whole film is built like Reservoir Dogs. For me, Tarantino still hits the mark; only he can deliver entertainment like this. Sure, nothing new, it's not a masterpiece, but it's still a lot.

Monumental work. Together with Happiness and Magnolia, it forms a perfect trilogy on the vices and shortcomings of American families.

A 4 for this pussy too. I just had a flash: was it this movie where a snake comes out of the toilet and Geims says to the girl, "thank goodness you weren't sitting on it"? And was this scene in a 007 movie? Faded childhood memories, but please enlighten me.

The needle on my pussymeter has stopped at 4.
Alejandro González Iñárritu Revenant

I give you 5, because I think like you, but enough with that damn Revenant, okay? It's a good blockbuster that pretends to be something else to impress the "cinephile experts" as well.

I think I've seen a maximum of 4 in my life, including one horrifying one with that handsome guy Pierce Brosnan. As for you, who, under the pretext of Bond, will talk about babes for the weeks to come (a very appropriate verb. Quote.), you deserve a nice little prostate massage.
