Jim Ward In The Valley, On The Shores

@Blech: Threes is less hardcore and a bit more melodic. Nothing innovative, just a solid rock album with a handful of excellent songs in it. I liked it a lot. Can I fart? prooot

I love "Relationship of Command" and I really enjoyed the three Sparta albums, especially the first and the third (the beautiful "Threes"). I wasn't aware of Ward's solo career, thank you so much for the tip. And for the great review, concise and spot-on. Well done!

Yes, these are the ZZ that I like. I’ve heard the 80s records, too polished, too artificial. I prefer them this way, warming up by the fire, under the moon of the Texas desert. I’ll read the review later, there’s the woman who’s bothering me today.
Sixx A.M. The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack

I agree with Core's vision of the Strip. An expression of 80s Reaganite hedonism, the boulevard had (and has) its dark side, represented by heavy drugs, despair, and a tendency towards suicide. It wasn't just sun and big breasts. Many (too many, starting with Robbin Crosby) have paid the consequences. The review starts off great but ends rather hastily. The album is waiting to be listened to.
Sacha Baron Cohen Brüno
Voto:
One of the few comedians with a capital C currently around. The film literally had me dying of laughter. Cohen is an misunderstood genius. The problem is this: our country is homophobic; there's not much to be done about it. I went with my partner to see the film, a rare afternoon off work. It was just us and a handful of others. During the funniest scenes, namely when he has sex with his little partner in the most varied ways, no one laughed. Two queer guys hooking up in Italy still causes too much of a stir. Broadening the discussion, you can't laugh about sex. Because essentially, Bruno just ridicules the obsession with sex, whether hetero or homo. But sex is a matter too serious for the very Catholic little Italy. How many victims has (and continues to have) the Catholic sense of guilt caused? And to think that the version released in Italian theaters is even censored: the scene where he mimics a blowjob is missing... how sad.
Timoria Viaggio senza vento

Like many above, I jump on the "good times, therefore good album" trend. In fact, it's really a nostalgia operation, like "hu cazzo i Timoria, when I was 15 we used to listen to them on cassette, let me see, no I don't have the CD, beautiful crazy blood, now I’m going on torrent to see if I can download them." In fact, I’ll probably do just that. Or maybe not.

Oh, you’re quite a discovery. You write really well. I can't remember, I think you once kinda pissed me off. But maybe not. Anyway, yes or no, after this review you're forgiven. Really good, damn. I've heard a lot about them, I’ll listen thanks to you.
Rainer Maria Rainer Maria EP
Voto:
absolute value group, the Rainer Maria. Besides the right influences you mention, there's all the beloved angular indie rock of the 80s and 90s from legendary labels like Polyvinyl, SST, Touch & Go. I haven't listened to this EP, though. Hats off to you for the suggestion.

One thing, Core: I saw your somewhat sharp response to the review of the RLs. I didn’t mean to say that Crashdiet are copycats, rather: it’s just that the intro of "Needle..." is really very similar to "Lay..." by the topastri. Just wanted to clarify that. Then again, maybe you weren't even replying to me...ciao.

What can I say, excellent as always. Pentagram are one of the favorite bands of my die-hard metalhead brother. Bald (like me :() and with a little belly (not me, ha ha) but he's a true defender, damn it. I've never heard them, but if you tell me they play 70's hard rock, I'll give them a listen. Au revoir.
