Finisterre In Limine
Voto:
I don’t know why, but this work is the one I listen to the least eagerly of all the Zuffantian works. In my opinion, it borrows too clearly from '70s prog without introducing anything new... for goodness' sake, it's still of excellent quality, but a bit too derivative; after all, what isn’t today!?!? :) The Finisterre will shine with their subsequent works... great review anyway...

Alright Splinter, I will follow your advice... it’s just that I picked the album based on a hunch, it came into my hands and I listened to it!! Not bad at all, especially as I already said, Indigo... I must admit I also prefer IQ, especially in their middle albums, not the early ones... I guess I need to listen to the three Pendragon albums you mentioned to really get to know them then... ;)

Alright, you see, you never stop learning. I had overlooked the Yugen, but now I've made up for it thanks to you... all that’s left is to get "Labirinto D'acqua," thanks Macaco... :D let's hope it lives up to expectations...

Macaco, you could definitely start as Dreamwarriot nicely suggests with "In Limine" by Finisterre, very 70s prog. Otherwise, from the same band, both "In ogni luogo" and "La Meccanica Naturale" approach a more modern progressive sound while still being well-crafted and close to song form. I warmly recommend "Storybook," a great live album to also get an idea of Zuffanti & Co.'s capabilities... As for the other projects, Hostsonaten has released, in addition to the self-titled album (which was well-reviewed here on DeBaser), "Mirrorgames," "Springsong," and "Winterthrough," both worthy of at least a listen... and of course, also "Autumnsymphony" :) from La Maschera di Cera, another fully progressive project, the self-titled album from 2002 is excellent if I'm not mistaken... The fundamental problem with Zuffa is that you can easily get lost among his thousand projects, some not really worth mentioning ;) Anyway, you can get an idea here Fabio Zuffanti - Wikipedia (yes, I know it’s Wikipedia, but it’s still reliable) or you can visit the official site BENVENUTI NEL SITO UFFICIALE DEI PROGETTI DI FABIO ZUFFANTI with all his projects... I hope I have been helpful :D talk to you soon, best regards!!

Discounted album designed for selling... banal and empty songs! Trash... anyway, de gustibus!! Too bad the review is also well written! :)
