OK. I don’t want to convince anyone. OK, Pitchfork doesn’t mean anything. But come on, they gave a 9.0 to this album. How can you say there’s no substance? YouTube is useless if you refer to albums in English because: you’re either a native speaker but don’t understand the literary value of a work or you miss the most important messages in Fiona’s writing. Are Fiona’s lyrics just “form”? I don’t think so. I believe she has put a few things on the table in this album. Things that aren't even that catchy. (So YouTube is automatically excluded.) But the way the "poor" and "rich" of this album balance each other is really surprising. "I ran out of white dove feathers to soak up the hot piss that comes through your mouth every time you address me," Fiona sings in "regret," which is a song that doesn’t move much harmonically. And yet the value of those words makes the turnaround. Furthermore, saying that Fiona's writing has never changed seems misleading to me. Fiona has her own recognizable style. In fact, no other pianist can be compared to her. How many albums did Dylan make with "his" style before he made the rock turn? I don’t know. @cptgaio: haven’t we already talked about this? :-)?

Come on, let's not joke around, listening on YouTube... this album can't be listened to on YouTube. It’s already an approach that sets a bad tone, the father of the fast music consumption trend that I can understand among kids but not among "old-school" listeners. In this album, it’s the sound that defines it. As for the songwriting (that hasn’t really changed, thank goodness, I say), there's a meticulousness in the search for the sound of the rhythmic voice that adds immense value. With every listen, you discover a new hit, a strange little sound. For me, this is the same approach as Massive Attack, just translated into acoustic. Listen to "Daredavil" or "Anything we want" or "johnathan." P.S. cptgaio, did you receive the bank transfer?

but rockers are all pretty much ugly and totally wasted on alcohol. at least these guys are cute and I think they wash at least once a day. if revival means + hygiene, I'm in... :-)
