AA.VV. Festival di Sanremo 2009

Seeing the photo that accompanies this article (yes, very journalistic, but the occasional lack of punctuation has made it hard for me), I think that next year the category Actors should be introduced at Sanremo.

Honestly, the review seemed a bit confusing to me, with quotes, comments, and recollections. The proposal is good, the opening track is devastating, but then the album, in my opinion, loses its way a bit. "Io come io" is my favorite album of theirs, musically quite modern, aged well (despite its brevity).
Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha & Frida Ring Ring

The album is clearly a bit of a mishmash, although endearingly so. Certainly, some songs would fit better in the Zecchino d'Oro, and there are few connections to the group's future evolutions. Even "Disillusion" with Swedish lyrics from Agnetha's solo album "Elva Kvinnor..." will take on a decidedly more mature and engaging flavor. The finale with "Rock'n'roll Band" still has an irresistible glam vibe.

There is the love song. There are those who know how to make it well. The Pooh in this album have created several wonderful love songs. If love songs are not liked, that’s a different story entirely.

A proposal definitely worth checking out! @Lewis: you truly leave me perplexed when you claim that Thin Lizzy had already peaked in '76. I think of albums like "Johnny the Fox," "Bad Reputation," and "Black Rose," recorded between '76 and '79, filled with wonderful tracks. Really, I can't relate to that.

Colosseum Valentyne's Suite

I didn't quite understand the final statement about the Canterbury prog; I really like this album (even though I prefer the individual songs over the suite). Hiseman is an amazing drummer.

Well done (to the reviewer, to Stockhausen, to the "Kontakte"... )

Susan Sarandon singing "Touch-a-touch-a-touch-a-touch me, I wanna be dirty" literally knocked me off my chair!

The ending is a bit disappointing; the story (which is, in my opinion, even richer than that of Suspiria) could have been developed better, but the images... beautiful and chilling! A tribute to Mario Bava, here responsible for the photography and the effects behind the final scene, and to the always stunning Alida Valli.
