A beautiful album, perhaps not as simple as I gather from the review.

Eric Woolfson Freudiana

Beautiful review. The album was conceived as a musical, and you can feel it. I fondly remember the terrible video of the title track with amusement.

The track-by-track review doesn’t bother me; it’s actually very well personalized. I really like the album musically, though I appreciate it a little less on the lyrical level; there are many good ideas, but also quite a few cloying passages (especially when they play the masked priest-eaters).
Tangerine Dream Hyperborea
Voto:
The Tangerine Dream of the seventies have an unmatched quality, but this album is a wonderfully happy exception, a journey without moving, a film without images.

Eric Woolfson Poe: More Tales of Mystery and Imagination

I’m learning the news now as well... I grew up with the Alan Parsons Project too (my sister bought "Eye in the Sky" when I was nine years old). I left Woolfson back in the Freudjana project days. His lyrics have always been enchanting; I think of "Old and Wise"...
Nicholas Meyer The Day After

I saw it too, more or less at the same age as the commenter (well, I was in middle school). What anguish... go tell today's kids what fears those times had. They don't even know what an atomic bomb is anymore, or the effects of radiation. A bit like Kosmogabri, I remember that in the school curriculum for middle school there was supposed to be - both in science and technical education (related to the part where they talked about energy sources) - a section on what to do in case of a nuclear explosion - take cover behind a wall or under a desk, immediately run to take a hot shower (back then I didn't quite understand why)... and I remember that in the mega-mansion across the street from where I live, they had built a fallout shelter. When I hear certain news from Iran today, I shudder at the thought that the USA has intensified the production of low-yield atomic bombs, that India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons and Israel has them without even having officially acknowledged it to the international community, and I make plans to emigrate to a certain mountain refuge I know of...
Thin Lizzy Chinatown

How wonderful it is to hear about Thin Lizzy, always and deeply in my heart. I kinda like this album, but it doesn’t excite me like others do.
