What great news! I will listen.
Pier Paolo Pasolini Il Fiore delle Mille e Una Notte

A review we needed! Pasolini, like all geniuses, occasionally misses the mark (here, in my opinion, his decision to have the actors dubbed by ordinary people from Salento, who, in his view, reminded him of the inflection of the Arabic language; personally, I often find the result laughable), but the film is one that makes me dream. Really, when I watch it, I feel like I'm physically somewhere else. Beautiful!
Nicolas Winding Refn Valhalla Rising

Seen last night, I found it a bit pretentious and unnecessary. Take a bit of Herzog, a bit of Bergman, mix them together, and leave many things unsaid (in my opinion due to lack of ideas), so that the audience can ponder some hidden meaning. The child actor is even told to use just two expressions: mouth open, mouth closed. The usual Nordic neo-pagan critique of the conversion to Christianity (at this point, a Bathory album is much better), the usual filthy Middle Ages, nice images (but can you compare to a landscape like that?). I was disappointed.
Christopher Nolan The Dark Knight Rises

I saw it yesterday, it’s a profound and well-made film, but... we’re talking about Batman and the tone of the movie is so serious and gloomy. The Dark Knight becomes an overly Christological figure (death/resurrection, descent into hell, redemption/conversion, the last shall be first...). I miss Burton’s light touch - which is still meaningful. And then, how can you compare it to Pfeiffer as Catwoman?

I saw it a few days ago, aired at an ungodly hour on Rai 3. I really appreciated the delicacy, the ambiguity of certain situations, a little less the contextualization. Too clinical and distressing, and in the end gratuitously grotesque.

It's true, this is the third (or fourth... I’ve been on vacation) review of this album, but considering that this summer we found ourselves commenting on the three hundred and fiftieth review of "Nursery Crime," I don't see why I should be outraged. Great album, interesting review.
Nina Hagen Band Unbehagen

Great review of an inimitable character! I don't give the album the highest rating, preferring the previous one "Nina Hagen Band" (with its masterpiece: "Naturträne").

Stanley Kubrick Orizzonti Di Gloria (Paths Of Glory)

I just finished reviewing it and came looking for this review. It's like reading "Fratelli" by Ungaretti or "Grodek" by Trakl: you discover the humanity of the soldier, and your blood runs cold in your veins.

Yes, the review is a bit curt, but the album is definitely worth it. It has an incredibly original sound, and what you rightly call the "canzone omnia" is truly a chilling piece (even though I will never understand what they meant with that title and those lyrics).
