If I were to suggest something else, I would tell a little lie. The only album I don't mind is "A Song about a girls"; but you mentioned "Gentlemen," and it wouldn't hold any comparison.

Can it be said that the precedent is unsurpassable?

Sure... as long as that "for" doesn't mean "the others will always be idiots." But what does this ending consist of?
Zanna, I recommend the first one by John Mayer §:-D

I would have mentioned them all, to be honest. The problem is that I gave these five lines a specific setup, maybe even a bit forced: "Ice guitars," which - as you said - is a (wonderful) song, seems to me like a standalone episode that lives even outside the album. On the other hand, thanks to you I've discovered that "Jintro & The Great Luna" is still performed in their concerts today; and the very fact that they have reworked it so much was my starting point. What Zita Swoon is today (and even yesterday), in my opinion, has very little to do with this album.

Another character who deserved more attention. In my opinion, he paid the price for choosing to publish everything that came to his mind over the course of 3-4 years; inevitably, some really interesting albums emerged, but they were a bit uneven. "The Family" isn't the best, but it's the most concrete. Personally, I would bring back the beautiful (and wyattian) "EDC" and "The Full Sentence" (the latter under the name Pigeonhead).
