"Self-production and self-management as tools for communication and antagonistic experiences". Reading this phrase on the back cover, today, over twenty years since their beginnings, certainly makes an impression: Alberto, Giampiero, Sergio, Marco, Stefano: or more simply, over time, the Kina.
A little-known (...but not really) band that represented and accompanied a fundamental part of the vital, reactive, independent, antagonistic rock (an extremely generic definition... used not by chance) of the tricolor home.

Born in the early 80s, this scrappy bunch of young, stubborn punksters, hailing from the harsh, cold, and "desert-like" lands of Valdostane, took their first furious, post-adolescent, determined steps into the then fervent, emerging tricolor punk/anarchist scene... (good times!). Recorded in just four days, "Parlami Ancora" was released in 1992, for the self-managed, historic label (and not only...) of the same Band: BluBus Records (a tribute to nothing other than the scrappy blue van that "comfortably accompanied them" around for fifteen long, intense years of concerts across half of Europe); in the humble opinion of one who babbles in hindsight, remains quite probably the most refined and intense work, also thanks to the propulsive contribution of saxophonist/guitarist/vocalist Stefano Giaccone (I believe no further "introductions" are necessary).

The fourth studio album in their not-too-copious discography (five studio albums and three live records plus a handful of singles), it stands out for its strong harmonic immediacy (not simplification...) and compositional freshness: the more hc/fierce aspects (of excellent quality, to avoid misunderstandings) of the beginnings are polished, bringing to light clear aggressive, compelling, and intriguing songs but "with tact" (forgive the exaggeration): "Strade vuote", "L'assalto del tempo" or the acoustic "Fu il vento", truly border on immortality, endowed with that power and resounding quality that still today allow us to recognize them as essential and irreplaceable elements of a certain type of (so-called) non-aligned sound; the punk/hardcore essence is certainly still present, (especially on a poetic/textual level), but as if sifted, drained (but not sterilized) of the coarser aspects... the result is under everyone's ears: a genuine and small masterpiece!

Some might argue the class is not excellent (at a purely executive level...) of what is advocated: the mainstay of records like this one (and of this music) is the absolute frankness of intentions put into play and the devastating sincerity in the achieved result. Alberto and Sergio, since 1999 have continued that unforgettable/unforgettable discourse, in the new Kina incarnation named "Frontiera", which will soon release the new and second work... "Talk to us again" I recommend.
