"The Care of Time": this is the title of the latest work by Niccolò Fabi (the new album "Novo Mesto" is being released), a Roman singer-songwriter who has established himself on the Italian music scene for seven years now and has reached his fourth album.

It's a great record, no denying it, with well-crafted arrangements that give the album a "handmade" flavor, anything but electronic. If you were expecting a ROCK or HEAVY record, you might as well stop reading this article because "The Care of Time" is above all the care of the soul. Indeed, listening to its wonderful pieces feels like diving into the mentioned places and living the moments described in the songs, such as in the splendid "Nel centro" (the third single released) or "Risveglio". Excellent acoustic guitars, soft but very intense melodies, sweet piano notes, along with Fabi's wonderful voice, ensure the album has had and continues to have great sales success, just like the first two singles "È non è" and "Il negozio di antiquariato".

Worth noting is perhaps the most beautiful and reflective song, "Offeso", in duet with the splendid Fiorella Mannoia, from which I would like to draw some verses: "... say it if you are offended by women who don't laugh, by men who don't cry, by children who don't play, by old people who don't teach. But if you have something to say, say it now. Don't wait for there to be a more convenient moment to speak..." It seems that Fabi is changing course from a musical standpoint, after the successes of "Capelli", "Vento d'estate", "Se fossi Marco" (just to name a few), showing a much more singer-songwriter and introspective vein, giving up pure POP and the nursery rhymes of early career, though still very appreciable.

In conclusion, this album seems like a positive signal for Italian music, which has been at very low-quality levels for years now, but thanks to Fabi, Ramazzotti, Ligabue, Zucchero, Pino Daniele, and a few others, combines quality with excellent sales results.

After listening to this album, I felt as if I was standing on an island detached from the horrid landscape of Italian pop music.

An album to listen to without prejudice that will leave an indelible mark on your soul without you even realizing it.
