Don Sante Sguotti Il Mio Amore Non E' Peccato

For completeness, I am attaching this link, which may be interesting to read. It is still the work of Un_Paolo, but of course not mine, as will be evident from the introduction and also from the less informal and relaxed style. Hi, I don't want to spoil the "poetry" of Your comments - which I haven't even read all of: in the book "American Punk Hardcore" by I can't remember who, it clearly states that Henry Rollins is GAY. So you should interpret his machismo and superomanism (which would be better termed superMANism) in this light: a bit like a character from American Beauty or Gus Van Sant's Elephant. Cheerfully (but not in a gay way, to be honest) Yours, Il_Paolo
The Byrds Ballad of Easy Rider

A review that is, as usual, intelligent and enjoyable, never predictable. I've never been too fond of The Byrds or country rock in general, but perhaps that's my own limitation. As for the reflection on "where you buy CDs"... I buy them at the store in town. However, I envy Mien because in his area, at the kiosk or on the mats of some street vendor, he can find the soundtrack of "Tano da Morire," rather than the best of Christian and Tony Santagata. Sic Fiesta Gloria Mundi. Rather, Transit.
Giuseppe Verdi Traviata

5 just for mentioning Sidne(y) Rome in a review of Giuseppe Verdi. I prefer her over him, anyway. As for opera, I don't know: I argued several times in the past with those who considered it a great artistic expression, while I would fall asleep. Who knows. More than anything, I don't understand what they're saying while singing (in Italian, too). Bizet's Carmen, at most, isn't bad.

The final verse reminds me a bit of "non ho l'età," in terms of mood, I mean. The singer's organisms actually evoke something of Jane Birkin. I don't know: anyway, the piece works on a radio level because it's a patchwork of things already heard. "What," I don't know, it's beyond my "mission." Regards, Il_Paolo

I lament and apologize for any typos, dear Hetzer. However, I ask you to consider this "pop pig," and "rubbish" in general, as a key to interpreting reality, without distancing it too far from you in search of the easy comforts that so-called "noble" art can provide. The Habsburg Austria produced Mozart, we produced Il Genio: and it is always about geniuses.

Fidel Castro, after harvesting the sugar, called the Guevara house to report the results of his campaign. This was the conversation with the housekeeper. FC: "Hello, Guevara house? Is Ernesto there?" - D: "No, he isn’t." FC: "No, Ernesto 'Che', he must be there." D: "If he’s not there, he’s not there." FC: "No, if 'Che' isn’t there, he will be." D: "But 'Che' is not there." FC: "'Che' is here!" D: "'Che' is not here, nor is 'C'è', who is on Debaser." FC: "Debaser what?" D: "'Che' or 'C'è', or 'Che'?" They continued like this for a while. Then they said that Che was no longer there, as the poet said "for the joy of graffiti artists and t-shirt and gadget printers." Iconographically Yours.

Thank you all, to my regulars (Mien, Jake - belated congratulations - Birba, Venusiano, etc.), without whom I wouldn't know what to do, and also to those who stop by here for the first time or only occasionally. Special thanks to Giudicone; I consider his comment very sharp and insightful (regarding pop porn) because one of my goals, especially from a stylistic perspective, is to reflect in my writing the content of the works being discussed, to make myself “minor” just as the arts I deal with are “minor.” As for Trix, I'm not so sure that the text is self-ironic: perhaps the singer injects irony— not without malice, and thus a sense of identification that excludes the aforementioned and the critical detachment of ironic thought, but what remains, and what we need to focus on here, is the text and the values it reflects, the spirit of the time it manages to capture, as Mien rightly observed. A time that is at least contradictory. Yours sincerely, Il_Paolo

Beautiful book, nonetheless a valid review in its summary. It has greatly influenced my thinking.
