Blue Öyster Cult Some Enchanted Evening (2007 Remasters)

The BOC are great, the MC5 by no means unknown, the review a bit lacking.
Elio e Le storie tese The los Sri Lanka Parakramabahu Brothers featuring Elio e le Storie Tese

Nothing from Elio is ever wasted, even though the tracks in Sinhalese are quite avoidable. However, Silos and Born to Be Abramo are masterpieces; Giocatore Mondiale was a blast. I don't agree, Jargon, in my opinion, Studentessi is a great album, inferior only to Rum Casusu Çikti.

the review is not a review, it would even be nice but please, do it with an accent. it gives me hives. the album is lovely, ashes to ashes alone is worth the purchase.
Andy Summers & Robert Fripp Bewitched

Great doctor. I don't know this record, but I will definitely get it. I see you've listed the musicians' names in full. The style of this review is a bit telegraphic, but effective. Frippian-Summerian regards.

great Jonah, I completely agree with your intervention (so much so that I even resorted to the 4, a tad exaggerated). Latimerian hugs to everyone. And I join in wishing the great Andy good luck!

It's stronger than me, like Fonzie who can't say "I've mess...u...p..": I can't give less than 4 to Latimerian camel. It would actually be a 3.6, but no one denies an rounding up for the career, especially since I find Sasquatch truly beautiful, but also Heroes (which David Paton's voice makes so much like Alan Parsons Project: yes, Paton and Rainbow are them. And S. Phillips is THAT Simon Phillips). And the presence of Ant Phillips makes me love this album a little more: what a pair, Latimer and Ant (even though here Phillips is credited for keyboards). Good job, Doctor, even if, let me say, I find the pointed name quite annoying (a.Latimer, d.Paton), it smells of Italian bureaucracy: let's give the name what is due to the name. Regards from the Latimerian pedantic periodicals.

Dear Doctor, you know what? In my opinion, your wit and periodic brilliance are better expressed in your comments than in your reviews. This one is beautiful, passionate, but not entirely convincing (3.9). This album moves me, just like everything the great Andy has done; even in the darkest moments between the 70s and 80s, there's always something extraordinary. Those from the last phase, let's say from Dust and Dreams to Nod and a Wink, have a sure quality: they never drop below a level of, let's say, 3.5, even in the most banal moments. This one in particular, perhaps, is the closest to excellence; let's say I was very torn between a 4 and a 5. But I also liked the last one; they are all heartfelt, melancholic, filled with emotion. That the solos may not have the complexity of certain things from the golden era (The Snow Goose, Moonmadness, Mirage) is certainly true; the real Camel as a band were those with Barden, Ward, and Ferguson (though with the great Sinclair on bass they produced two not extraordinary albums), but Andy Latimer is more than enough to give us so many emotions. And let’s really hope that Nod and a Wink doesn’t remain the last one; hold on, Andy. Best wishes, Latimerian.
Martin Scorsese Goodfellas - Quei Bravi Ragazzi

great review, with a 4.4 rating. in my opinion, this film is a masterpiece; joe pesci, ray liotta, and the incredibly immense Bob are remarkable, the direction is fantastic, and there’s this ironic tension that flows even in the toughest moments, making it extraordinary. among scorsese’s masterpieces, slightly below taxi driver and on par with mean streets (which I saw too long ago). also worth mentioning are after hours, king of comedy, and the recent the departed. and even gangs of new york isn’t bad at all (a fantastic daniel day lewis). dear doctor: if you’re referring to scarface, I am absolutely (unfortunately) in disagreement with you: an exaggerated film, often annoying. and al pacino, although fantastic, is in my opinion a good step below the immense, unreachable, stratospheric BOB DE NIRO. anyway, brian de palma is a great filmmaker but hasn’t always tackled scripts worthy of the situation. ah, maybe you were referring to Carlito's Way, which is nice (and features the excellent sean penn), but still I think it's below goodfellas. the best of de palma? the phantom of the paradise, carlito's way, and the underrated casualties of war. but he’s also made some huge messes like dressed to kill, blow out, and carrie (I love stephen king, but this is really just a little movie).
Marc Lawrence Scrivimi Una Canzone

In my opinion, he was 8 (years old). Anyway, I can't stand the snobbish cynicism with which film critics and even regular viewers in orgasm over fake sociologists treat the comedy genre. Laughter = disengagement? Sometimes yes. Laughter = stupidity? Absolutely not. This film is definitely nice, fun, and anything but stupid, with its satire on certain '80s pop and also on current events. The character of the pseudo-intellectual pop star is fantastic, Drew Barrymore is exceptional, and Hugh Grant, who may not be a great actor but possesses great irony, never misses a beat when he does comedies: from Four Weddings and a Funeral to Notting Hill, from About a Boy to this, they are all highly enjoyable films. Then feel free to disdain it, but let’s not get stuck on an a priori condemnation of certain cinema just because it has the "original sin" of making people laugh. This is not Vanzina, guys.

a masterpiece. Surkamp's voice must be listened to, understood, but it's incredible. There's not a note out of place, a jewel to love and cherish. I also really like at the sound of bell.
