Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers Damn the Torpedoes

Well yes, I like it. The irreverent tone perhaps doesn’t do justice to the album (in my opinion, clearly the best of good old Tom, also because it’s the one that made me discover him, with "don't do me like that" back in the glorious and, alas, long-ago days of my fourth year in middle school), but it is truly written in a flavorful way.

everything is very nice. it's a pity that your review also bored me a bit, with this plethora of adjectives and redundant rhetorical figures, almost trying to replicate in writing the emotions felt while listening to the album. personally, I still think they gave their best with Agaetis Byrjun. anyway, it's better than listening to an album by Anna Tatangelo while watching Gigi D'Alessio sway lasciviously towards his beautiful.

great record, I still don't know which one is my favorite between this and the two previous ones. I wouldn't disregard the two albums from the new millennium either. anyway, I also disagree about la cathedral. in any case, well done: 3.5 because it's a bit too brief.
Bernie Marsden Live @ Monte Carasso, Ticino 27.06.2008

Great review (aside from Piace, whom I assume is Ian Paice and some other bit players, but I want to reward you), it was practically a Whitesnake concert with just Bernie on stage. Anyway, I envy you, it must have been a lovely evening, one of those where music truly takes center stage. I remember Marsden live over twenty years ago (twenty kilos and much more), he was really good. I too weighed almost twenty kilos less, damn. Anyway, really congrats.
Ain't no love in the heart of the city (I would have sung the chorus).

Dear Judge, just so you know, you've also been a bit annoying with these comments. The first time it was funny, the hundredth time it's as irritating as the cocktail you suggested :)

In fact, the album is (how should I put it?) somewhat unripe, very 60s pop (if I'm not mistaken it was released in the Netherlands in 1969), but still there are some remarkable peaks, from the two focus tracks to "House of the King" and "Anonymous." I'd like to say a few words about Van Leer the flutist: in my opinion, he’s devastating, with an expressiveness and variety of sound registers that Ian Anderson can only dream of. "House of the King" is, in my opinion, the most beautiful instrumental by Jethro Tull :), maybe along with "Bourée," which is a cover of Bach. Great Focus. Now I’m diving into their recent works; who knows, I might just shoot out a review.

ephemeral technique (but can you explain it to us?) and random apostrophes aside, the review is well done and shareable.

stunning, although personally I still prefer movin waves. anyway, one of the best bands in the entire prog scene worldwide. and not just worldwide. van leer and akkerman are greats.

I had some expectations because, after all, I’m very attached to the first album and moreover, from Wetton of KC, UK, and not just one, you always expect better. I don’t know, neither praise nor blame. I hoped for more; with a group featuring Wetton, Howe, and Palmer, you should demand more, even if they have 180 years among them (with Downes, we’re at about 235) and quite a few aches and pains.

A little nervous, my Dany? Come on, little one, or else mom will spank you. How did the big middle school exam go? Come on, don’t descend into vulgarity like that, your review is a bit lacking, but the fact that at your age you listen to Mark and C. is greatly honorable. What can I say about the album? It’s a gem, perhaps only Love Over Gold is a tad superior. Anyway, congratulations and... stay calm.
