Efterklang Parades

Album???!... I would rather call it a reproductive mess!!!... not "Parades," of course, which I find... pleasant! Especially as a listen for the underbrush... um, background... but it certainly doesn't keep me awake at night... quite the opposite (I actually fell asleep listening to "Under Giant Trees" yesterday ;) ).

Sorry, Blackdog, but I disagree... if someone wants to say something negative about "Cease to Begin," they can only claim that it’s a bit too much of a copy of "Everything All the Time"... (but I’ll add that with the departure of Matthew Brooke, fortunately, the pseudo-folk acoustic songs have also disappeared, even though the melodic peaks of "Everything..." are missed)... and more than English new wave, I see them playing in the style of certain American college bands from the late '80s and early '90s... anyway, I just wanted to point out that the second album hadn't been reviewed.

Sunday, May 18th at Unwound (Arcella area)... but I've never been there so I can't tell you much more (I really hope that buying in advance isn't necessary, anyway on the venue's website www.unwound.it the entrance fee isn't listed... on May 27th, by the way, Melt Banana will be playing with Pissed Jeans... nice offers this month).

Very heavy?! I find them quite accessible... the hard noise extremists might turn up their noses at the excessive melody... minimal yet intelligently structured, they manage to present an original summary of the best electronic trends from the last 7, 8 years...

A muscled, platinum-haired mulatto from a supposedly difficult childhood (but the real shock came when he trusted the worst dentist in the UK)... his stroke of luck arrived when he caught the dnb trend about a year before the long-awaited releases of the true founding fathers, and then... he enjoyed about 2 or 3 years of clear fame, indulging in various ladies of easy virtue, including Björk and Naomi Campbell, and even attempting an unlikely film career... mmmmh, I wouldn’t delve further!

Hey, that's not fair, you're making me look like a know-it-all with glasses and messy hair... and on a Litfiba review, no less ; ).
