Depeche Mode Live @ Stadio Olimpico (Roma) 16.06.09

I have been to Milan. A somewhat slow concert. Too many questionable new songs. Still a reference for those who love the genre.
The Stranglers La Folie

Enrico Ruggeri was indeed backstage with me, about ten years ago, definitely passionate. Great Rouge. A true character.
Ligabue Sette notti in arena
Voto:
Certain nights and Viva are the last beautiful singles by Ligabue. To say that one can find something good in Nomi e Cognomi honestly seems a bit too much to me.

The Stranglers have released some amazing singles, but personally, I've never been able to get through an album. It's no coincidence that I often listen to the Greatest hits. Anyway, they are great. The band (what's left of it) is also great live.
Premiata Forneria Marconi Live @ Arena Daturi, Piacenza
Voto:
Well, 28 euros for a summer concert by PFM seems a bit too much to me. You don’t even pay that much for people who are more “trendy.” Whoever organized this doesn't see very far ahead. Also because during the summer there are many free events sponsored by various municipalities. These are people who still play with passion. If only there were more like them.
Van Morrison A Period Of Transition
Voto:
I had forgotten about this Morrison album.
Van Halen For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge

I have always liked this album a lot. The only one I like after 1984.
Placebo Battle For The Sun
Voto:
I remember that one evening three years ago I tried to get into a Placebo concert by showing up late and attempting to outsmart the scalper. The scalper wanted to sell me the ticket at full price despite the concert already having started. I replied that the band was terrible and that the concert had already begun, so I wanted it for half price. He then told me that rather than sell me the ticket, he would frame it and hang it on the wall, and then he democratically ordered me to leave or else he would beat me up. So, not gloriously, I walked away.
Joe Jackson Band Afterlife
Voto:
Indeed, great bassist Maby. You gotta look sharp and you gotta have no illusions just keep going your way looking over your shoulder...Great capricious Joe

Sorry Azzo, where did you see him again? I saw him at the Teatro Smeraldo in Milan last year and my friends and I had a blast. Why a bit sad? Sure, when I saw him in the small clubs, he was way more impressive. But it probably also depends on the repertoire he plays. Anyway, personally, I wouldn't say sad, rather I would say still very cool. Great Joe, a legend of mine.
