Dimmu Borgir In Sorte Diaboli (Deluxe Edition)

Anyway...comparing Jan Axel Blomberg with Dave Grohl is pretty much STUPID. Grohl is a fucking genius from my point of view, but Hellhammer...what the hell does he have? Maybe of ALL the Mayhem lineup to date, he's the one with a shred of brain, but...nothing else that he could easily go toe-to-toe with Nicholas Barker (the one from DCA, you know) or with Tjodalv (if that was his name)...

The latest gasp from Dimmu Borgir, from my perspective, is "Death Cult Armageddon". PERIOD. Especially after that P.U.T.T.A.N.A.T.A. of "Puritanical Euphorical Misanthropia". I want another "For All Tid" (in my opinion, the ONLY true masterpiece of black metal ever), but I deduce that today it will just be a dream. Oh well.

Ah, well, if a BRUTALLARO says so...regardless of tastes, I would suggest you to open your mind. I can adore Baustelle just as much as I can adore Meshuggah at the same time. If that's strange for you, that's your problem.

Only "Hella Good" deserves a bit of listening. The rest... well, Gwen was heading down the path of "cool but terrible at singing." Compared to that, the old records from the '90s are masterpieces.

Anyway, I don't know if you've noticed, but Il_Paolo's reviews always ALWAYS ALWAYS start with "Hey guys," "Welcome guys"... can't we mix it up a bit? I started ONCE with "Here I am with this review..." and then that's it, just to give an example.
Pantera Reinventing Hell: The Best Of Pantera

47, you don't know what you're missing... "Far Beyond Driven" is a GREAT album. Even though my favorite by Pantera remains "Vulgar Display Of Power," followed by "Cowboys From Hell" and then "Far Beyond Driven" and "The Great Southern Trendkill."
Vasco Rossi Liberi... liberi

Generationality... maybe you're not entirely wrong, I'm from '90 and you're older than me :D "Liberi Liberi" definitely has nothing to do with the period '78-'83, a period I got to know gradually growing up (I'm VERY attached to "Non Siamo Mica Gli Americani" and "Bollicine," if the latter counts for the period you mentioned) but my judgment remains what I've written above. I got to know the trio "Cosa Succede In Città"-"C'è Chi Dice No"-"Liberi Liberi" mainly by listening to that "Fronte Del Palco" (my father has a ton of vinyl!), I liked them a lot but had never heard the studio versions, and I remedied that over time by buying "Liberi Liberi" last year. Then it's true, maybe Vasco Rossi should have done a "half and half" job in terms of the band, meaning less electronics and more real drums, but I’m fine with it; the work is already done. With the live "Va Bene Va Bene Così," however, Blasco managed to do something absolutely brilliant that "Fronte..." definitely pales in comparison to... let's say one is a solid 5 (like the first part of Vasco) and the other is a 4 (like the trio - or quartet if I include Fronte - Città-No-Liberi). And I agree that Braido is a good guitarist (as evidenced by the early albums of Baccini and the various solo albums released over the years). The subsequent live albums have never interested me... just like all the various compilations that have come out here and there over the past few years that have only contributed to making Vasco "an industry," as you said a year ago. I hope I haven't made a mess...

Dear Primiballi, you know I care for you, but on some things you write (generally speaking, of course), I am in extreme disagreement. One of these is considering the '90s as false and hypocritical, as you wrote above... I wouldn't say that, honestly... but it's just a matter of taste. Personally, I don't distinguish between better and worse decades; I like beautiful MUSIC, regardless of the years. As for "Liberi Liberi," I consider it the "swan song" of Vasco Rossi, who really knew how to create entire albums, along with the live "Fronte Del Palco." The rest we already know.
