@nuovoromantico: Of course, maybe you’re looking for women too much… you should wait for them to seek you out!

EDIT: in the above speech, the part where I talk about Guccini I wanted to put in parentheses, since I have been listening to the other singer-songwriters since I was a child and I have only delved deeper into Guccini for a little over a year now...

I'm quite young indeed. But I've always been eager to learn about old and new things. I also grew up listening to the first Dalla (the records written by Roberto Roversi, the works up to "1983", something from "Viaggi Organizzati", and I won't deny that I also like things up to "Henna", then almost complete emptiness), with De Gregori (even though I hadn't delved into him much, at least until a year ago when I started to gather a bit of everything), with De André, with Fossati, with Pino Daniele (especially the works up to Bonne Soirèe, and then gradually dissociating, between the post-"Bonne..." works and the last attempts with the flashy things) and later I got to know Guccini... at the same time, my listening included (and still includes) the Beatles, Almamegretta, Ustmamò, Robert Wyatt and... Elio e le Storie Tese. Unfortunately, I can count the concerts I've seen on one hand. "What do you want me to start listening to Latitante for?" I didn't say that. I just specified, in the case of Silvestri and Gazzé, that today I prefer the latter over the former. "Il Latitante" is a record that will never go down in history (for goodness' sake...) and for me it doesn't hold the same value as "Dado", the two previous records, or even "Sig. Dapatas". Gazzé's "Aratro," on the other hand, seems like a work worthy of that name, as already mentioned above. Then again, de gustibus.

Paolo, you actually remember the worst things about the Rats...

Gazzè, in my opinion, doesn't always have flashes of genius. I think he has ALWAYS had them, just look at "Contro Un'Onda Del Mare," "La Favola Di Adamo Ed Eva," or even the latest, "Tra L'Aratro E La Radio." But I like a bit of all his albums. Nowadays, I find he has much more inventiveness than Silvestri… (shall we compare "L'Aratro" with "Il Latitante"? One is excellent, the other is just good enough).

@mushroom: I don't like Angelini (aside from the Nick Drake covers CD that I haven't heard), I think the Velvet have only recently matured, and I won't comment on Pino Marino because I haven't heard anything. Instead, I believe Cristicchi is talented, to be honest.

"In Rome there are too many singer-songwriters who are daddy's boys." Come on, you’re not going to tell me that Gazzé is a daddy's boy singer-songwriter too, I hope...

I care about you. I received this album towards the end of last year, but I never really paid much attention to it. Your review is now pushing me to listen to it sooner or later.
Daniele Silvestri Sig. Dapatas

Not up to the levels of the first three albums, but still a great record, full of pearls that I believe are underrated... besides "Aria" and the charm of "Amore Mio," I would point out the hilarious Roman slang in "Adesso Basta," the love psychedelia of "Tu Non Torni Mai," not to mention "Sto Benissimo," a sort of return to the sounds of "Dado"...

Damn Xyz, then you say I’m a jerk...5 for the record and that’s that.
