THE REVIEW

Excellent production by Daniele Silvestri, perhaps one of the best in terms of content...

the album opens with "ARIA" (undeserved eighth place in the '99 edition of the San Remo Festival), a song dedicated to the inmates of the former high-security prison of Asinara, the text is spoken, the instrumental very calm and full of great atmosphere becomes more rhythmic halfway through the song while Daniele's voice hints at a singing that is almost suffocated and whiny, as if it was a prisoner singing; the piece is interpreted excellently.

The other noteworthy tracks are "INSIEME" (great track on the theme of love or friendships that are coming to an end), "GIRO IN SI" (nice soft-rock love piece), "DESAPARECIDO" (classic political/historical song with an interesting text) and finally "SONO IO" (very Tiromancine-like, it touches the oneiric and the strange use of an electronic voice in the background is more than suited). The worst piece is "AMORE MIO", the classic case of "meaningless catchy tune at all costs".

In closing, I would like to remind you that in almost all the tracks Max Gazzè plays bass and Matteo Salvadori (former Jeremy's Joke, former 883 etc...) plays electric guitar.

Good music to all! Goodbye!

Summary by Bot

Daniele Silvestri's album Sig. Dapatas features excellent production and meaningful content, blending political, social, and emotional themes. Standout tracks include 'ARIA', a haunting tribute to prisoners, and politically charged 'DESAPARECIDO'. Despite one weaker tune, the album benefits from strong musicianship, notably by Max Gazzè and Matteo Salvadori. Overall, it is a compelling work mixing calm atmospheres with rhythmic depth.
