I've never listened to them, but I don't feel much urge to do so. Great review.

Good review, but if you read it a couple of times before sending, you would avoid a lot of mistakes!! I keep reading you with fondness, Gueddo, even though the genre isn't for me :-)

Not bad, the Arcturus!

I was asking what you meant by NEW NEW prog, not NEW prog :-) Maybe you simply mean the generation of bands born in the '90s? Anyway, give Anglagard a listen, they really deserve it, but they don't have much to do with Genesis, Marillion & co. Thanks for the information!

I’m not an expert in new-prog, but I know a bit about all the bands you mentioned, except for Pallas. "The World" by Pendragon, I must say, I quite like it too; I don’t think that’s a flaw :-) Maybe I even prefer it to "Misplaced Childhood." Anyway, if it’s true that Pendragon are quite derivative, I wouldn’t say Marillion are the epitome of originality either; at certain points in Misplaced Childhood, it really feels like I’m hearing Genesis. I know "The Visitor" by Arena, and I find it very nice; do you really consider the albums you mentioned to be better? What do you think about Echolyn? By the way, the most beautiful prog album (and the least derivative and mainstream) post-'70 for me is Hybris by Anglagard (among those I’ve listened to, of course). What do you mean by new new prog?

"he was a modest composer, because compositional modesty was the most suitable way to express what he had inside... he didn't write elaborate pieces, because he didn't need them..." I fully agree.
