It's a way of singing that's somewhat, let's say, animalistic. But I'll leave the technical explanation to the experts.

@odra, I was in Munich at the Lembach House, I saw Kandinsky's landscapes in person. I was obviously talking about the subsequent period.

How can one say that Kandinsky's work is not painting just because he didn't create portraits, landscapes, or religious scenes? I also don't digest Faust that well, but come on, you can't justify that by saying it isn't music! :-)

I hope you’re just joking, otherwise I think you’ve said something really stupid. Sorry.

If I may tell you, try to take care of the punctuation (good punctuation makes the writing more readable).

Yes, yes, I know, in fact I'm teasing him a bit :-) Everyone has their own tastes (I might like some not-so-great albums myself, like post-grunge), but one must have the intellectual honesty to admit that certain music, like Wyatt, Soft Machine, Popol Vuh, Faust, etc. (just to give a few examples of things that are not exactly easy to listen to) cannot even be compared, say, to that of Asia. For some, they might be pleasant to listen to, but their artistic value remains close to zero. One can say they prefer Monticelli to Van Gogh, but that doesn't make Monticelli artistically superior to Van Gogh.
