Avril Lavigne The Best Damn Thing

Dear Ilenia, you see they publish all sorts! If you feel like telling us something, maybe next time put in just a tiny bit more effort. There are orchestration professors who write on this site, and they still get bombarded with insults from people who perhaps have only ever listened to the radio and think they are God. But that's the beauty of DeBaser, so don't take the criticism to heart. The review is objectively "light" and, I hope you won't mind me saying, quite tender in its veiled uselessness. Go for it, publish more, let us know what you think about this and that singer or this and that DeBaserian. In short, throw yourself into the fray and really fight, it’s a lot of fun.
A somewhat useless album. Supermarket product from a girl who sings decently and who some foxes have made rich. Bye.

You make me die... anyway, I realize that I'm not fully objective because when I see someone playing the piano like him, I forget everything else (the pointless Lunapop and the horrible lyrics included). As long as he's not called Gigi D'Alessio, of course... ;)

Bah... If they had played close to home, I would have gone to see them, just as I saw the Sex Pistols 20 years after their heyday. But having witnessed their concerts in the golden days, I believe that sadness would have peeked through. They threw so much crap on themselves that responding to the call of the great Elio in "litfiba tornate insieme" sounds more like a need to pay the bills, as someone mentioned earlier... A Fundamental group in all our youth, and that should be enough to give them, in any case, a chance. Total failure, however, is just around the corner. We shall see!

The plot is at least somewhat "gripping." The writing style is a bit rough, but honestly, I've read worse. The book certainly doesn't deserve the success it has had, but isn't that nothing new? I’m no longer scandalized by these things.

Great review. You perfectly capture the fundamental difference between the "faux carefree" that attracts the crowds and the "hidden introspective" that appeals to the alternatives or those who presume to be. Musically, this album is a bit wobbly, in the sense that some tracks sound like they were written and performed by a band of fourteen-year-old teenagers with acne. However, there are still great ideas throughout. The new blur that will emerge from the next album, while more mature, will make one somewhat nostalgic for the atmospheres of this one. I saw the band perform live to promote this album—stunning, to say the least. A real surprise in concert.

X Polar: you're strong because I had to read it 4 times to understand that you were pulling my leg : )
Either you're one of those who "dig the word until it's like an apple core" or you're using hallucinogens. The result, while certainly not very well argued, is still amusing.

Ulysses is one of my all-time favorite Italic songs.

One of the few CDs I own (and I own quite a few), with a blend, an atmosphere, and a cohesion between the melodies and music of the various tracks that is truly EXCELLENT. I recommend it to anyone. It contains several masterpieces, and "fillers" that could alone give meaning, for other less inspired artists, to entire LPs. The best work from the solo stinger, who has not reached those heights since, becoming rather diluted.

As a musician, I can only appreciate Cesare's piano talent. And objectively, while he certainly doesn’t get me drunk with his music, you can’t say the guy is NOTHING. He’s not the new Bob Dylan, of course, but should we talk about Meneguzzi or similar? Here’s someone who writes and sings his own songs, holds the stage well, possesses musical skills well above average, and knows what he's doing! The CD in question is useful for those like me who appreciate Cesare but aren’t willing to invest money in his entire discography, so it provides a decent way (I don’t download mp3s on principle) to get an idea of at least ten years of an interesting career (setting aside the Lunapop, who can only moderately make me cringe). Always from a musician’s perspective, I find songs like "gli uomini e le donne sono uguali," "marmellata..." truly unique, different from the mass of commercial music, especially in terms of musical structure and harmonic framework. Therefore, the pointless criticisms are truly incomprehensible, but then again, that's also the beauty of Debaser.

"DEAR" Lizzy, if you talk to me like this about Paul, I can only agree with you, and if you insist, I ask you to marry me. Yet I won’t hide a sort of aftertaste of pleasure when it is I who explain to most people, in Italy, the greatness of a man celebrated worldwide, of whom, however, not much is known here. Let them enjoy Meneguzzi & Co., and instead, let’s return every evening to the safe harbor of our favorite songs, which are there and accompany us. Seeing Paul’s handsome face in the window doesn’t mean much to me; instead, immersing myself in a crowd a couple of times a year at the concerts he does around the world means a lot! [by the way, I remind you that in Rome he filled via dei fori imperiali with 400 thousand people…]
